Vintage 1840s pre Civil War bonnet hat ~ black velvet hat with red lining under the stand up brim ~ 1 1/4" wide black grogram ribbon around the crown ~ bow and streamer at the back ~ two small black feathers adorn the front at the top ~ Crown is fully lined ~ a fabric cord is sewn in to help keep it in place- 19 1/4" circumference
- brim stands out 2" at the front and tapers to the back
- crown is 2.5" deep
- wires shape the bonnet at the top of the crow and brim
- condition: good ~ the red lining is shredding and some wear on the velvet mostly at the back
