1930's Jean Patou Joy Perfume ~ Original Gold Box and Presentation Card ~ Welcome to the 1930's when Jean Patou launched Joy Perfume ~ From our personal collection comes this very desirable and rare sealed bottle of Joy perfume from the early 1930's with it's original presentation card ~*~ "Jean Patou Parfumeur Paris

In 1932, inspired by an old jade snuffbox from his collection, Jean Patou outlined the drawing of the black and red small perfume bottle in which JOY was launched and presented ~ a rich scent made of the purest and refined rose and jasmine oils and other highly scented oils, which made it the most expensive perfume in the world then, even now its often referred to as that- Gold box with raised black logo: 2 3/4" across x 3 1/4" tall x 1 1/4" deep
- Back of box: lower right corner *Made in France* and the lower left corner *614 in blue*
- Box Interior: tan cloth lined lid ~ *Jean Patou ~ Paris* incised gold letters
- Bottle holder: tan cloth with chenille lined bottle holder
- Black Glass Bottle with Red & Black stopper: 2 1/4" tall *overall*
- bottom: 1 1/4" across the bottom tapering up to 1 3/4" across
- mark on bottle bottom: raised mark *Jean Patou ~ France*
- Bottle body: Round bright gold paper label *JOY - Jean Patou ~ Paris*
- Stopper: black ribbed glass with a large red dome
- bottle neck: original gold twisted wire seal encircles the neck and extends up to and around the stopper's bottom
- Presentation Card: 2 7/8" across x 2 1/8" tall ~ translated French "a harmony: the perfume Joy, the powder Joy"
- Condition: Excellent condition ~ card has one very small stain at the upper right area ~ I believe the stopper was once covered with a semi sheer seal of some kind, as part of it still exists on bottle neck rim ~ this may have been wax ~ the box shows minor age wear ~ there is a liquid in the bottle when gently shaken
